THE PROCESS OF OVERCOMING
HAIYAN
The monster typhoon swiped much of the islands in Visaya, Philippines. Tremendous building were damaged and destroyed including houses, schools, hospitals, and other economic systems. Hence, how do the cities overcome this calamity? It is very important to know well the process to recover similar devastators.

Education is the hope
The typhoon Haiyan or, Yolanda in local name, destroyed or damaged more than 2500 public schools, 12,400 classrooms needing repaired,and 4400 having to be replaced.
Without education, there is no future in society. Hence, the Korean government tried to help the Philippines to overcome the calamity. The Korean government sent a military party named, Araw.

Araw
Araw which means sun in the local language was built and Chul Won Lee was positioned as the head of the military. Then the government sent 540-men Araw with a Dae Heung Hwang, who acts as the interpreter of the predominantly male group of soldiers.
Its mission was rebuilding or fixing the destroyed or damaged schools and giving hope to children. They were able to build 37 schools in various towns such as Dagami, Tolosa, Tanauan, Palo, and Tacloban City.



What's their Mission?
Not only just rebuilding, the military also taught the Korean language to elementary, high school, and college students. The contingent also opened a vocational training school, teaching selected survivors on engine mechanics and heavy equipment operation.
Its mission was rebuilding or fixing the destroyed or damaged schools and giving hope to children. They were able to build 37 schools in various towns such as Dagami, Tolosa, Tanauan, Palo, and Tacloban City.

So Are the economies of the cities good? or Bad?
The monster typhoon Haiyan sweeped the economies of cities, Dagami, Tolosa, Tanauan, Palo, and Tacloban City. However, Haiyan has made advances in their economies. “
However, the best opportunities can be found in times of crisis. Starting zero economy with abundant economic supports enable increase the region's economic growth rate to two-digits.
This can be possible with the reconstruction activities that are rebuilding malls, hotels, stores, and commercials buildings in the past five years.



It actually advanced before!
In the reconstruction activities, the policy produced many jobs such as cleaner and construction workers. Furthermore, various kinds corporations, investors, or business men invest their money in region 8 as the blue ocean.
The Philippines' mall corporations such as Robinson and SM revived around its street business.
